week 74 - Passed my theory (driving test) and LOVING Dundee!

week 73 - Off to serve in Dundee, Scotland

Well I forgot to let you know that it was moves week this week, mainly because I thought there was no chance that I would move! But I was wrong, and so I'm moving this week to Dundee, where I'll serve in the Bingham ward there! Apparently it's a really good ward, so that'll be good, as well I'll be serving with Elder Preece who was in the MTC with me. He'll be fun to serve with so it should be good. I'm really sad to leave Bangor though, it's such a good place to be, and so many good things were starting to happen across the stake and in our own area, but oh well, thats okay. My companion Elder Nordfors was awesome as well, so I'm really bummed that I'm not serving with him anymore either. Dundee is gonna be freezing cold too!! hahah it's on the east coast of Scotland, and it's kind of in a bay area so the wind from the ocean is going to kill me! hahaha, good thing I have a nice coat for the winter!! I'm probably going to buy some new thermals and stuff though, cause I'll probably need it. I'll have to let you know next week what the plans for skyping and stuff is because it'll be different now since I'm in a new area!! Hopefully it'll be around the same time though so you can get a bit of christmas morning and talk to me around 10 or 11.

Well with moves we have to do loads of planning, so it's a kinda short email this week, but I love you all and hope you have a great week!

week 72 - Christmas Concerts

Hello everyone!!

So we had a pretty good week!! We got 2 new investigators who are pretty awesome!! One was a woman named K., who referred herself to us through, and we got to teach her a lesson this past Wednesday. It was 2 days before her wedding which was pretty crazy!!! And the best part is that one of the things that attracted her to the church was the fact that we teach about how marriage can be an eternal thing, something that isn't just for this life. So teaching her 2 days before her wedding was the perfect time to talk about eternal families and the restoration of the gospel with her. She's on her honeymoon now though so we won't see her for a week or two, but when she get's back she is really excited to meet with us again!! Our other new investigator is a man named B. He's 25 and used to be a really strong Christian but has kind of fallen away from that. When we talked about the Book of Mormon with him, he was pretty interested because he always felt like there should be more to Christianity than what he knew. So he's going to start reading this week, and we're so pumped for him!! He really wants to come to know God again, and so as long as he reads the Book of Mormon, it'll definitely happen for him! So seeing those two was probably the highlight of the week for us. We also had a really good activity on Saturday night, where 30 missionaries from our mission sang in a Christmas choir concert at the stake center in Belfast. They did an awesome job and there were a ton of non-members there so it was pretty successful!! Hopefully some good things come from it!

It's good to hear you're doing a bit better Peyton!! And by the way I thought that was a really funny story about how you fell asleep in a tree house! haha sounds like a classic goofy Peyton moment!!

I'm kind of sad that I'll miss Shelly's wedding!! I didn't realize it was coming up so soon! you'll have to say congrats to her from me!!

Well I love you all!!! Have a great week!!

week 71 - #ShareTheGift

So first off, Happy Thanksgiving!!! I did remember that it was Thanksgiving, but it wasn't exactly a big deal or anything. The whole day when we talked with people we approached them by saying "so we're American, and it's Thanksgiving back home, so what are you grateful for?" and then we just cheekily talk about how we're grateful for the Savior and then next thing you know you're teaching the restoration to them haha. It was really fun though! Now we're doing the same exact thing pretty much but with Christmas, and it works perfect because the church is doing a massive push this month about remembering Christ during the Christmas season with this new initiative called He Is The Gift. there's a cool video and a new website called that the church is doing some massive advertising for!! They bought youtube's masthead space on their home page to play a 30 second version of the he is the gift video all day December 7th!! They also rented a ton of the billboards in time's square from December 1st to January 1st. All of the missionaries get new pass along cards to hand out, and then there should also be 9 pass-along cards in the December issue of the Ensign for you guys to hand out!!! Members don't get them in the UK Ensign though:( It's definitely geared more toward the states, so you guys better take advantage of all this cool stuff going on since we don't really get to that much over here in the UK!!! We get the online stuff and the pass along card at least, and so we're doing all we can to get it really big in Northern Ireland this Christmas. Last Friday we did a zone meeting on it to get everyone in the zone pumped for it, and then yesterday we did a presentation on it to the YSA in the stake to get them to hashtag ShareTheGift!!! You guys should get on board and do it to!!! Invite all your friends to watch the video so we can sweep the world with the message of Christ this Christmas!!!

So Malia I heard that you were the only girl to play in the Turkey Bowl and that you scored a touchdown!! You did better than me when I tried playing football! I didn't even score a touchdown!! haha keep being awesome!

Peyton sports med sounds like an awesome class to do!! I bet you'll really like it! I kinda wish that I took that class while I was in high school cause then I could have figured out whether or not I would have like doing that as a career! I've been praying for your migraines to go away and I'll keep on praying!! Hopefully they'll go away soon!!
